Position Summary:

Maintenance employees are responsible for ensuring safe and efficient operation of Company equipment and plant services within their area of expertise.  Other duties include; plant-wide maintenance tasks, organization of the maintenance shop, follow-up on all work reports. Support the Preventative Maintenance program and assist the Maintenance Supervisor with daily tasks.  Other responsibilities include compliance to GMP, HACCP, and various government regulations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintain, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment, such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyer, and production machines and equipment, using hand tools, power tools, and precision-measuring and testing instruments
  • Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble
  • Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools
  • Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments, using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges
  • Repairs or replaces defective parts, using hand tools and power tools
  • Starts devices to test their performance
  • Lubricates and cleans parts
  • Responds to and repairs malfunctioning or inoperative equipment with a sense of urgency
  • Eliminates down time
  • Strict adherence to all safety procedures

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Read and decipher blue prints and schematics
  • Use vision for close up inspection and color distinction

Qualifications:

  • Vocational Certification or equivalent experience
  • Strong electrical knowledge, 2 phase, 3 phase, 220 volt, 480 volt
  • Strong knowledge or PLC’s preferred
