Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an industrial Wastewater Treatment Operator II in Mossville, IL!. Typical work hours are 5:00pm -- 5:00am; hours may vary based on business demand.

This position works 12-hour shifts on a schedule rotation of 2 days on and 2 days off; 2 days on and 3 days off; 2 days on, 2 days off, and 1 day on for a 2-week pay period.

The Wastewater Treatment Operator II is responsible for assisting higher level technicians in operating and maintaining wastewater lift stations in a sanitary and industrial wastewater treatment facility, troubleshooting pump and motor failures, keeping all level control devises in proper working condition, identifying and maintaining a critical parts inventory, and performing minor preventive maintenance on all related equipment, testing of waste streams, lab testing, process changes and general housekeeping.

Qualified candidates who are offered a position must be able to obtain an Illinois Class K Operators License within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities:

+ Assists the team in operating and maintaining the industrial wastewater Treatment Plant.

+ Follows procedures regarding cleaning, equipment use, maintenance, and safe handling of chemicals.

+ Collects samples and conducts the in-plant tests necessary to control and monitor treatment facility processes and operation

+ Records in-plant test results, various meter readings, gauge reading, flow quantities and other technical data.

+ Performs basic in-plant maintenance according to the schedules and procedures established for the facilities to which assigned. This includes cleaning, servicing, lubricating and repairing pumps, chemical feed equipment, electrical/ mechanical devices regularly found in water, wastewater and industrial wastewater treatment facilities.

+ Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

+ Recommends measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.

+ Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.

+ Understands company policies and enforces safety regulations.

+ Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysisand lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.

+ Demonstrate attention to detail, good comprehensive and analytical skills, and excellent organizational skills.

+ Maintains a strict schedule in order to be successful in the assignment, yet demonstrates flexibility in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

1. High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.

2. Two years of experience as a maintenance technician in an industrial environment or in water / wastewater treatment, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.

3. Must have the ability to lift 50 lbs.

4. Must have the ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.

Special Requirements:

+ Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.

+ Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.

+ Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.

+ Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.

+ Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.

+ Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.

Physical Requirements:

+ Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.

+ Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.

+ Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.

+ Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.

+ Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.

+ Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.

+ Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.

Additional Information:

+ Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.

+ This position may require a valid Driver's License.

+ This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client's location.

+ This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Ability to obtain IL Class K Operators License within 6 months.

2. Knowledge of and certification in water/wastewater systems.

3. Experience with computer control systems.

4. Knowledge of water/wastewater systems maintenance.

5. Experience troubleshooting motors and pumps.

6. Experience using electrical test instrumentation.

7. Ability to work proficiently on a PC performing e-mail functions, documentation, and reporting using MS Office programs

8. Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment, including applying proper safety practices and following procedures while performing maintenance tasks.

9. Experience working in a CMMS environment.

+ Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends.
