Bartenders at the U.S. National Whitewater Center (USNWC) are seasonal employees responsible for providing friendly and responsive service in a high-volume restaurant environment. Bartenders must create an exceptional dining experience for every guest by making them feel welcome, comfortable and important. Bartenders can be stationed at the Pump House Biergarten, Pump House Draft, or the Outside Market and report to the Front of House Supervisors.

• Maintain a proper dining experience in the bar area – take orders, submit orders to the kitchen, deliver items, offer desserts and drinks, remove courses, replenish utensils, and refill glasses
• Stay up-to-date on current menu choices, specialties, and menu deviations at all Food and Beverage venues on property
• Keep bar fully stocked – includes the responsibility of changing kegs
• Maintain a clean dining environment – buss tables, sweep floors, etc.
• Adhere to grooming and appearance standards
• Handle cash transactions, and operate the restaurant point-of-sale system
• Maintain availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
• Maintain accurate knowledge of activities and products offered at facility

Requirements

Job Requirements
* Must be at least 21 years of age
* Knowledgeable in local, regional and national beer and wine selections
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
* Prior bartending experience in a high volume, casual dining atmosphere preferred
* Serv-Safe alcohol certification or equivalent

Physical Requirements
* Able to stand for long periods of time
* Able to lift, carry, move, and place objects greater than 50 pounds
