About this job

This position is responsible for the verification, correction and communication of all purchase order discrepancies with the vendor and/or buyer. The Receiving Expeditor has the authority and responsibility to resolve those discrepancies within certain financial parameters, and coordinates with DC management for larger adjustments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

* Verify, investigate, and communicate all purchase order discrepancies with the respective vendor and/or buyer, ideally within 48 hours of delivery.

* Respond to receiving questions sent to Coppell Issues Pending folder within two hours of posting.

* Coordinate with purchasing and accounts payable to close all open issues.

* Suggest ways to improve the communication and service levels from our vendors.

* Identify, communicate and implement proactive steps and/or ideas that could expedite the identification and disposition of inbound receipts.

* Input comments on all purchase order discrepancies into SAP. Communicate issues to the purchasing department (via appropriate public folders) as needed.

* Comply with all OSHA and SDS standards; and assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse. Maintain a clean; neat and orderly work area.

* Conduct searches to physically locate unaccounted for product as necessary. Adjust records accordingly. Take steps to correct and prevent discrepancies.

* Ensure that all damaged and/or defective product is accounted for and properly disposition.

* Monitor, identify and report any noncompliance to published receiving standards

* Request all required POD's and packing slips from carriers and vendors.

* Manage and work with the Receiving Lead to monitor and control 902s, Blocked, and Q status items.

* Unload deliveries and Receive product as required.

* Perform other duties and tasks that may be assigned from time to time.

Minimum Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent

* 3-5 years of experience in a DC environment, and knowledge of Safety products

* Experience working with shippers, suppliers, buyers, accounting and sales

* Experience with Excel, SAP, email and producing reports and spreadsheets

* Ability to operate material handling equipment

* Ability to use the internet and specific tracking sites

* Must have excellent communication skills

* Must exhibit attention to detail

* Ability to work independently, while also interacting with other departments

* Excellent organization skills.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
