Overview
Works closely with senior attorneys in the Wendy's in-house Legal Department to support the company's Real Estate efforts. Involvement in a significant number of business deals and draft, review, and audit related documentation as well as be included in the negotiation process as described under the Key Responsibilities listed below.
Specific Responsibilities Include
  • Partners with in-house Real Estate, Franchise and M&A attorneys on drafting, reviewing, negotiating and analyzing contracts, letters of intent, bills of sale, lease agreements, lease amendments, default letters, purchase and sale agreements and ancillary documents, assisting with diligence requests and review, condemnation actions; work with construction and engineering department on company store renovations and franchisee store renovations, communications and initiatives.
  • Review paralegal work product and work independently with paralegals and support staff to execute projects and processes
  • Prepare for and conduct real estate deal closings
  • Supporting General Counsel on an "as requested" basis on special projects.

Education / Experience

  • Master's Degree. Additional education information: J.D.
  • Law firm and/or in-house legal department experience: 2-4 years real estate experience
  • Flexible generalist with real estate legal experience and excellent soft skills, willing to learn and enthusiastic about being a part of the Company and its hard working legal team
