Maintenance Technician - Full or Part Time - Full-time / Part-time

Position Summary

Perform the duties necessary to keep the physical structure and associated equipment of the stores in good repair. This includes but is not limited to preventative, emergency, corrective and routine repairs in electrical, mechanical, fire/life safety, and plumbing equipment. Responsibilities also include lamping and painting/carpenter duties as directed to maintain the interior and exterior physical structure of the buildings. Position requires travel to and from different locations using a company vehicle. Must provide own tools.

Responsibilities & Essential Duties

• Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner as to reflect the highest integrity of our business
• Maintain HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire/life safety and other associated equipment to maximize efficiency levels
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and systems per the Preventative Maintenance schedule
• Maintains records as required to ensure compliance with state and federal agencies and fire marshal regulations
• Lamp all accessible areas of the stores in a thorough and timely manner
• Performs maintenance painting and carpentry repairs as prioritized by the Facilities Supervisor
• Perform other tasks as assigned included by not limited to: caulking, drywall repair, general cleaning tasks.
• Ability to work a schedule based on department and store needs. Must be able to respond to after hours and weekend calls (24/7) when directed by the Facilities Supervisor.
• Perform weekly maintenance and cleaning on car wash equipment and building.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ability to work independently without direct supervision
• Must be familiar with all relevant government regulations
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Basic craftsman skills in painting and carpentry repairs
• Strong knowledge and experience in electrical systems, plumbing, mechanical equipment, as well as in the maintenance of these types of systems
• Knowledge of personal safety and safety engineering codes
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Possess a valid drivers license and be able to operate a motor vehicle
• Must be familiar with PC, windows applications, and preferably a computerized work order system.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements 

HS Graduate or Equivalent (GED)

One (1) year retail or other related experience preferred

May be required to travel. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is subject to a typical retail store environment (varied temperatures) and is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee will be exposed to refrigerated/freezer coolers on a frequent basis. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
