Summary of Position:
The Shift Lead is responsible for supporting the management in the operation of the restaurant, with a focus on leading and developing a team of employees in effectively performing their daily tasks while maintaining high standards for food, service, and health and safety. The incumbent helps with ordering, inventory control and submission of reports.
Job Requirements:
- Fully cross trained and can work effectively in all FOH and BOH positions
- Ability to lead by example with peers
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and to move and handle boxes of food and supplies which entails lifting, and performing all functions as set forth in the project description
- Successful completion of food and alcohol safety training certification
- Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Ability to process information through POS (Aloha) and KDS (menulink) system
- Ability to communicate and interact with team members and guests to resolve service concerns
- Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation and process payment transactions
- Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job
- Accurate verification of daily line check standards
- Performs functions on the POS and computer as needed to complete the shift’s operations and end of shift paperwork; these responsibilities should only be used during shift leader assigned shifts
- Utilize the Redbook to communicate all shift activities
- Enforce company policies and procedures during operations
- Follow and implement uniform guidelines
- Ensure adequate staffing during shift to meet guest experience standards and labor goal requirements
- Adheres to proper cash handling procedures
- Manage the quality production of all food while meeting ticket time standards and minimizing food waste
- Shift leaders do not have the authority to hire or terminate team members

- Represents Mohegan Restaurant (SM), LLC in a professional and courteous manner at all times

- Regularly attends and is punctual for work
Supervision Received:
- This position reports to the Assistant General Manager and/or General Manager of Mohegan Restaurant (SM), LLC
Supervision Exercised:
- Directs staff as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.
- Previous supervisory experience in restaurant or retail customer service/guest services required.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work in a team-focused environment
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
- Excellent verbal, written and communication and interpersonal skills
Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three (3) years of high-volume restaurant supervisory experience, including some experience in a quick service or fast casual dining environment
- Experience with revenue and expense accounts and impact on store profitability
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Must be available to work a flexible full time schedule, rotating AM/PM shifts and days including weekends and holidays.
