Located in Sacramento, California, Sierra Vista Hospital is a full-service mental health facility and a center of support for patients and their families. Since 1986, we have offered our clinical expertise to those suffering from emotional, behavioral and addiction problems. Our private, 171-bed facility is home to a clinical team comprised of licensed professionals committed to providing the highest quality care.

The Director of Outpatient Services will provide direction, management and supervision of day to day operations of the programs and staff in the Outpatient Department.

  • Develop and implement Policies and Procedures relating to clinical operations.
  • Ensure compliance with the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services regulations and Joint Commission standards as they apply to Outpatient Treatment Programs.
  • Ensure patient records are maintained in keeping with professional standards of practice and ensure compliance with client charting and billing completion timeliness requirements, auditing and compliance standards.
  • Develop, monitor and execute the Quality Improvement Initiatives for the Outpatient Department.
  • Participate in budget planning & oversight, including monitoring of goals and objectives and programmatic spending to ensure financial stability.
  • Manage and monitor internal and external referrals to outpatient programs and collaborate with community partners.
  • Establish and maintain a therapeutic treatment environment.
  • Handle employee relations and staff development for outpatient department staff.
  • Provide assessment, planning and treatment for patients to assist staff as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • The Director of Outpatient Services must have at least a master's degree in counseling, social work or a related discipline and one of the following licenses:
  •  LCSW/LPC/LMFT, Clinical Psychologist and business degree strongly preferred
  •  Minimum of 5 years post degree experience in clinical practice and supervision and 3 years of experience in an administrative/management capacity preferred
  • This position requires a high degree of clinical knowledge and competence as well as management/business skills and knowledge of community based behavioral health services
  •  Must have a proven background of success in program development, physician engagement and business growth
  •  Must have experience managing multi-clinical programs and marketing.
