The Hospitality / Brand Ambassador is primarily responsible for washing all dishes used in the daily operation of the restaurant.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Helps to maintain the neatness, cleanliness and orderliness of the restaurant and surrounding property by sweeping, unpacking supplies, stocking shelves, breaking down empty boxes, and removing trash, etc., as requested.
- Assists within the kitchen by cutting/chopping meats and produce, etc., and helping the prep person as requested.
- Scrapes food from and pre-rinses dirty cooking and serving dishes, flatware and utensils.
- Rinses and washes cooking and serving dishes, flatware and utensils by hand.
- Sets up 3 compartment sink properly – wash, rinse, sanitize – and ensure proper chemical concentration.
- Dries clean dishes, utensils, drinking glasses by hand as necessary.
- Bag and haul trash to dumpster. Keep dumpster door closed and surrounding area clean.
- Handle tableware and glassware carefully to prevent breakage and loss.
- Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies.
- Clean walls, floors, sinks, mops, etc.
- Maintains a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, counters and floors.
- Maintains the kitchen to meet or exceed Health Department standards for cleanliness, food handling and sanitation.
- Processes delivered food stocks and supplies, verifying receipt of ordered items.
- Ensures the neatness, cleanliness and orderliness of the restaurant by sweeping, mopping, stocking shelves and removing trash, etc.
- Presents a clean-cut, neat and professional image.
- Handles, stores and rotates all products properly.
- Performs food prep and product portioning as needed.
- Opens and closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations. Assists others in opening and closing.
- Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
- Performs other duties or roles as assigned by Burgermeister or the owner.
Qualifications
- High school diploma preferred
- Willingness to be a team player and hard worker.
- Must be friendly and outgoing.
- Restaurant experience a plus but not required.
- Able to communicate clearly with customers and other employees.
- Able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours).
- Able to see clearly (with or without glasses) to read, interpret and understand recipes, menus, food orders, packing slips, etc.
- Able to hear and speak effectively.
- Able to sense degrees of temperature.
