Our food at Nathan’s Famous is very unique. We provide our customers with the highest quality and freshest product that can be produced within a quick serve restaurant. The cook position is very important because it is our food that has made Nathan’s Famous for over 100 years. Our cooks must adhere strictly to the standards and recipes of Nathan’s Famous. We strive to provide our customers with the best possible product and a key essential responsibility of the employees who are doing the actual cooking our famous food products.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Expeditiously and accurately prepare, cook and serve food according to Nathan’s Famous specifications and procedures.
- Master the skill of working from order screens. Keep up with demand.
- The holding of food must align with the demand. Food products that exceed holding times must be discarded.
- Provide sales associates with all products needed.
- Make sure food assembly areas are well stocked and clean at all times
- Identify any equipment that is not working correctly and notify manager immediately.
- Be knowledgeable in cooking procedures, equipment and product specifications manual, as well as health and hygiene regulations.
- Proper use of cooking equipment is essential.
Qualifications:
- Flexible. Ability to function at all cooking stations.
- Attention to detail and product quality
- Able to work in high volume environment, fast paced environment.
- Hand, eye coordination to use knives and equipment in a safe and productive manner.
- Team player
- Multitasker
- Must be able to read and write English clearly.
- Ability to work safely and carefully consistently.
- Must be able to work all holidays
Physical Requirments:
- Able to stand for long periods of time; always cleaning.
- Perform general physical activities such as cleaning, loading and unloading; stacking and lifting product. (Ability to lift 25-50 pounds.)
- Energetic and able to move in hot/fast paced environment.
