Role Summary/PurposeThe Sr. Cable Technician is responsible for pulling, installing & transporting ESP power cable within DOT regulations, troubleshooting and repairing ESP power cable. Assisting and following instructions of service technician while on work locations. Maintain DOT company vehicle, and hydraulic spooling trailer.Essential ResponsibilitiesIn the role of Sr. Cable Technician you will:

 

  • Gather tools and supplies to be used at worksite appropriate for job to be performed.
  • Load and transport spooling cable to and from job sites; unload and position appropriately.
  • Install bands upon installation.
  • Assist Field Service Technician and rig hands in the retrieval and installation of submersible equipment.
  • Operate hydraulic spooling unit upon installation and retrieval of cable.
  • Assist in Cable shop to prepare / repair cable by inspecting and accurately recording splices / armor repairs in cable.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on Company vehicle and spooling trailer.
  • Maintain required logs, DVIRs, and daily trip reports completely and accurately to comply with DOT regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain cable inventory and splice material inventory
  • Maintain all required safety and professional certifications
  • Provide customer with written reports, does necessary paperwork for invoicing, equipment identification and tracking, inventory control, payroll and expense monitoring
  • Ensure periodic maintenance and repairs are made to Company Vehicle.
  • Maintains company vehicle with necessary tools and equipment to perform service jobs.
  • Comply with all EHS requirements.
  • Adhere to DOT work regulations.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in field service or oil field

    Eligibility Requirements: 

  • Possess and maintain a CDL Class A
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends and holidays, as required
  • Ability and willingness to work in a constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending and other physical activities
  • Ability and willingness to be in the shop environment a minimum of 8 hours per day, primarily standing and sitting, as required
  • Ability and willingness to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Ability and willingness to be subjected to extreme heat for extended periods of time
  • To the extent that you are applying for a position that requires you to operate a GE owned / leased or rented vehicle for company business, you must be willing to submit to a check of your driving record
