UFG regards the Back Wait and Food Runner position as Vitally Important to our ability to service guests through multiple seatings over the course of a service. They are a restaurant’s “secret weapon” and are counted on to help speed the flow of operations.

It is our expectation that UFG Back Waits & Food Runners have the following abilities in addition to those listed in the General Job Description:
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to take and relay messages efficiently and accurately
- Ability to memorize all menu items in detail
- Ability to quickly ‘bus’ and reset a table, to UFG standards
- Ability to memorize table numbers and guest position numbers
- Ability to comfortably and proficiently carry up to three plates of food
- Ability to accurately place food, drinks, plates in front of guests according to assigned table and position number
- Ability to safely carry bins of ice, glass racks, and plates through the restaurant
- Ability to interact with guests according to UFG Standards of Hospitality
- Ability to maintain eye contact with managers and servers throughout the shift
- Ability to maintain a clean appearance and positive demeanor throughout the shift
- Ability to identify and report any condition that may exist that detracts from the guest’s experience
- Ability to move fast and remain on your feet throughout the shift
- Ability to complete all sidework tasks assigned to the position
