Job Description

Universal Data Inc. (UDI) is seeking a Site Engineerto service itsNew Orleans, Louisiana customers. The site engineer will be responsible for handling day-to day IT support and customer issues. This position is responsible for the delivery of IT services remotely and to client locations onsite. The individual in this role must be able to work independently and provide timely resolution to customer issues in order to minimize impact to business.Key responsibilities include:

  • Serving as the initial contact for all urgent technical support calls
  • Supporting and troubleshooting end user devices for customers (i.e. workstations, printers, mobile devices, etc.).
  • Troubleshooting common customer/server issues.
  • Troubleshooting & diagnose LAN/WLAN/WAN issues.
  • Ability to diagnose and triage issues before escalating to Sr. Engineers.
  • Document customer issue resolutions.
  • Document time daily in Universal Data Inc.'s ticket system.
  • Attend Daily huddle via phone conference.
  • Proactively address customer IT needs.
  • Participate in on-call rotation after probationary period is over.
  • Personal ownership over customers and issues.
  • Daily travel between customer sites is expected.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional organizations.

Minimum Education & Requirements:

  • Must have High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates Degree preferred
  • (3) to (5) years of progressive technical experience.
  • COMPTIA A+ Certification Required 
  • Network+, CCNA, MSCP certifications a plus
  • Must have and provide excellent customer service skills.
  • Working knowledge of DNS/DHCP/Active Directory
  • Experience and strong working knowledge of supporting Windows systems.
  • Above average working knowledge of network topologies, server administration and windows operating systems.
  • Understand computer imaging concepts and have experience creating images.
  • Experience with desktop remote control software (i.e. Kaseya)
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized and very detailed oriented.
  • Familiar with managed support service ticketing systems.
  • Able to proactively address customer IT needs.
  • Must have a valid Louisiana driver's license and transportation.
