About this job

-Greet clients as they enter the clinic. Attend to their needs quickly and professionally. Assess the pet’s needs. -Recognize an emergency situation and when to seek help.
-Keep client and pet information current. This includes updating contact information in Avimark and making client aware of overdue vaccinations or treatments for his pet, or any outstanding balance or credit on his account. Answer all telephones.
-Set appointments, answer client questions, document messages for doctors and management.
-Make reminder and follow-up calls.
-Maintain paper charts and all documentation. Create charts to a uniform standard.
-Organize each pet’s information with the proper releases, estimates, and any other pertinent documents. -Medical records must be complete and signed.
-Prepare, file, and purge charts according to hospital protocol.
-Take payments and enter payment information into Avimark. Verify that credit card, Telecheck, Care Credit and cash balances match Avimark totals after each shift. Close machines and cash drawer each night.
-Keep a clean work environment by dusting, cleaning, sweeping and mopping reception and lobby areas. Spot clean as needed and thoroughly clean daily. Keep reception desk free of clutter. Empty trash. Stock food room daily.
-Communicate supply needs to appropriate person.
-Maintain excellent lines of communication with clients, technicians, Doctors and management.
-Perform additional duties as requested by Doctors, management and Staff 4 technicians.

Requirements

Job Requirements
-Avimark clinic management system. Thorough knowledge of client, pet, medical history, schedule and accounting modules.
-Use of office equipment including telephones, credit card, Telecheck & Care Credit terminals, fax and copy machines, printer and Avimark terminal.
-Knowledge of all hospital protocols, including those for vaccines and laboratory tests and basic principles of animal care.

Additional Information
Physical Demands:
Extended periods of typing, using a computer mouse and looking at a computer screen. Lifting bags of pet food weighing up to 40 pounds.  Transferring those bags from storage shed to wheeled cart to display shelving.
