Scope of Position:
Supervise the day to day operations of the Waving, Picking, Shipping, Replenishment and Transportation departments. Responsible for the staffing and provides the necessary tools for the staff of these areas to complete their daily work to customer specifications. Must be a proactive leader as well as foster a cooperative work environment in the Waving, Picking, Shipping, Replenishment and Transportation departments.

Responsibility:
These responsibilities are ranked in order of importance to the organization.

1. Develop a sense of ownership for the entire department.
a. Scheduling staff should be designed to meet all customer requirements.
b. Ensure the proper flow of materials throughout the building and maintain the integrity of the inventory you control.
c. Staff should be willing and able to move from job to job.
d. Develop a better flow of materials through the department.
e. Review and communicate daily activities for performance.
f. Analyze both good and bad days and make the appropriate changes.

2. Develop the abilities of the department.
a. Training should become a key part of each week.
b. Cross train all positions so you have backup for all positions.

3. Be responsible for root cause analysis - quality reports.
a. Track all problems coming in or leaving your area.
b. Institute an analysis procedure which will tell you why events are occurring.
c. Develop TQM within the department.
d. Ensure all departmental procedures are followed.

4. Become a leader on the floor.
a. Conduct regular employee meetings.
b. Treat all employees with respect.
c. Be firm, consistent and fair.
d. Follow up on items brought to you from the floor.
e. Communicate areas of concern to management.
f. Support company policies. If you disagree with a policy bring it up with management.
g. Do employee evaluations on time.
