Position Summary: This position leads and mentors staff on a daily basis. They complete the staff work schedule, sick calls, etc. They assist with the daily deposit.

Responsibilities: Receives direction from and collaborates with Revenue Cycle leadership. Serves as a resource to all staff. Interacts with all areas of the enterprise. Also interacts internally with Mayo providers, secretaries, administrators, and various Mayo departments other institutional areas as needed. Works collaboratively with supervisor as a resource to unit personnel. Identifies and analyzes problems and implements changes to improve effectiveness. Coordinates staffing, time cards, hiring and training. Maintains an expert knowledge of the work area and optimizes use of available technology and is expected to perform PSR/Scheduler duties when needed. Effectively communicates information to staff, and supervisor. Participates in the coaching and development of staff, optimization of area productivity and service problem resolution, and guideline development. Routinely completes quality audits to optimize staff performance. May represent area on projects and committees etc. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills when resolving conflicts with staff and customers. Assists in supervising staff activity and may perform functional activities of the work team. Ensure all encounters occur in a courteous, professional and confidential manner using AIDET. Safely assisting and utilizing lifting devices during patient transport. Responsible for auditing and maintaining appropriate cash on hand, reconciling and preparing daily bank deposit.

Qualifications: Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent Basic accounting knowledge (understanding of debits and credits). Advanced cash handling/cashiering skills preferred. Two to three years of customer service experience preferred. Frontline Medical office experience preferred. Experience in a mentor/leadership role preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred

Additional Qualifications: Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Advanced computer and office equipment knowledge, including windows based programs. Ability to work individually and as a member of a team. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Detail oriented, strong organizational skills, and ability to multitask. Consistently pleasant and helpful with strong customer service skills. Ability to work in multiple computer systems simultaneously. Must be able to demonstrate a calm, caring and helpful voice in handling difficult situations with patients and providers, i.e. angry, upset or just concerned Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively by phone or in person Must be adaptable/flexible in a changing work environment which requires upgrading skills

Exemption Status: Non-exempt

Compensation Detail: Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $15.54 per hour.

Hours/Pay Period: 80

Schedule Details: Monday - Friday - between hours of 6:30-5:15.
