JOB DESCRIPTION:

Provides counseling and psychotherapy to meet the needs of a select population. May provide clinical supervision to psychology and social work interns and to psychiatric residents. Serves as a professional resource within the community. Performs related responsibilities as required.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

Provide culturally competent intake assessments, triage appointments, crisis intervention, case management, individual therapy, group therapy, outreach services, consultation, community referrals, and participation in a multidisciplinary approach to the clinical care of Emory students. Serve as a professional resource providing outreach and consultation to the Emory community, as well as clinical training and supervision in the APA-accredited internship and post-graduate training programs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualified applicants will have a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA- accredited program and completion of an APA-accredited internship. Applicants should also have completed all internship, postdoctoral hours and national examination requirements for immediate licensure as a psychologist in Georgia. Applicants must also have demonstrated experience in college counseling, excellent clinical skills, experience working with full range of human diversity that includes a commitment to social justice, and an investment in outreach work that directly supports the mission of the student affairs division.

Desired Qualifications

Licensed for 3+ years. Counseling center experience is desired. Preferred candidates will have strong communication and collaboration skills, an interest in working as an integrated part of the CAPS team, an investment in collaborating with colleagues across the university, the ability to respond calmly and flexibly in crisis situations, a strong Student Affairs identity, and a demonstrated commitment to working with marginalized and underserved populations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A doctorate in counseling/clinical psychology and two years of psychological counseling experience. Licensed as a Psychologist or license eligible in Georgia.DATE CREATED/MODIFIED/REVIEWED: 1/28/08 DRS
