Position Purpose

The purpose of this position is to support the development of new products as they go through the commercialization process (from bench top to scabable production). This individual must be willing to coordinate pilot plant operations including but not limited to scheduling, inventories, execution of production (within the pilot plant and at the commericial plants), and communication with maintenance on equipment. Other additional duties include assembly/disassembly of equipment, logging in raw materials, maintaining HACCP logs, processing egg products, shipping samples and maintaining plant and facility cleanliness/orderliness. In addition, non-routine tasks are included such as product preparation in the kitchen, submission of lab samples, and conducting shelf life testing. The individual will work closely with Commercialization, Operations, R&D, and Food Safety Quality/Regulatory (FSQR) personnel throughout the development cycle.

Principal Accountabilities

50% Pilot Plant Operations. Coordinate all operations as it pertains to the pilot plant.

30% Test Kitchen Operations. Coordinate all operation as it pertains to the test kitchen.

10% Maintain food safety programs and GMP, SOP, and SSOP programs.

10% Maintain personal safety programs (on-going equipment training for all R&D stakeholders).

Required Qualifications

* 2 year's degree in a technical field (e.g. maintenance).

* Minimum of 2 years experience in maintenance or operations settings.

* Highly motivated individual with a strong background maintaining and operating production equipment.

* Individual must be able to problem solve and manage their time.

* Strong understand of basic unit operations including pasteurizes, mixers, scales, homogenizers, ovens, freezers, etc.

* This position requires a high level of proficiency using Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

* Travel -- Non-Routine (less than 5%).

* Ability to lift 40 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

* 4 year degree BS in technical field (e.g. food science, food chemistry, animal/meat science).

* A minimum of 2 years experience in new product development, commercialization of new products, and/or research (preferred)

* Operations/Plant experience (minimum of 4 years). OR

* Product development through a commercialization process (minimum of 2 years). OR

* Other Pilot Plant experience (minimum of 2 year).
