- Pharmacy Tech
Supports the pharmacy in the areas of inventory, preparation, distribution, and processing of medications, and supplies. QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
* Requires Indiana State Board of Pharmacy Technician Certificate or training permit or receipt of application from the Indiana State Board of Pharmacy OR active Intern/Extern license issued by the Indiana State Board of Pharmacy.
* Pharmacy Technician National Certification Board (PTCB) certification preferred
* Requires high school diploma or GED certificate.
* Requires the absence of a criminal history related to the ability to work with drugs.
* Requries knowledge of medical and pharmaceutical terminology .
* Requires ability to understand drug orders .
* Requires knowledge of procedures for operating automated technology and multiple computer systems .
* Requires mathematical skills .
* Requires knowledge of pharmaceutical inventory methodology .
* Requires strong follow-through and organizational skills to perform multiple concurrent tasks .
* Requires data entry skills
If you are interested in a career as a Pharmacy Technician but do not meet the minimum licensure qualifications, IU Health offers a nine month nationally accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program. Upon completion of the program, students are awarded a certificate and may be considered for employment by IU Health as a Pharmacy Technician.
