Position Summary:

Overall Responsibility:              The Assistant Manager (AM) supports the Restaurant General Manager in ensuring delivery on guest satisfaction through managing the daily operations, team member development, customer service and Burger King procedures across all shifts for desired restaurant outcomes (i.e. increased sales, profitability and employee retention). The AM has full accountability for the restaurant operations in the absence of the Restaurant General Manager. An AM should be able to work long and/or irregular shifts, including extra shifts, as needed, for proper functioning of the restaurant.

Supervisory/ Managerial:       This position operates under the direct management of the General Manager and helps lead the restaurant team.

Tools:                                                   All Managers strictly follow the BK Daily Planner, Manager Command Station and Kitchen Minder during their shift to maintain food safety, cleanliness and communication throughout the day. 

Key Interactions:                          This position interacts with restaurant Team Members, the General Manager, outside vendors, BKC and local town inspectors, members of Jethwa Management Office, Multi-Task Managers, and customers.

 

Essential Functions and Duties:

*              Directs efficient and accurate preparation and sale of products for prompt customer delivery within established speed of service guidelines

*              Motivates and directs Team Members and Shift Coordinators to exceed customer expectations with fast and friendly service in clean surroundings

*              Follows all store policies such as cash handling, security, computer and POS policies, Burger King policies and procedures, such as daily planner and travel path and all government regulations such as employment law and food safety standards

*              Is responsible for safe, all cash and credit cards during shift as well counting deposits and ensure the deposit reaches the bank safely

*              May be responsible for paperwork such as: filling out the Weekly, Food Ordering, Daily and Monthly Inventory

*              Recruits,  trains and works to retain effective team talent by making decisions or recommendations on hiring and advancement

*              Available to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays

*              Prompt and regular attendance for assigned shifts, meetings and training

 

 

Qualifications:

*              High School Diploma or GED required, some college preferred

*              1-3 years experience working in the quick service restaurant industry as a Team Member or                 Assistant Manager preferred

*              Completion of all BK certification programs: Right Trac Training, Foundations and ServSafe

*              Driver's license preferred (may need to take deposits to bank on a regular basis)

Traditional Physical Requirements:

*              Occasionally lift, move, carry and stack cartons up to 50 pounds from various heights               to/from shelves

*              Stand and walk for long periods of time (duration of shift)

*              Occasionally climb on stools or ladders and reach for items located on shelves

*              Frequently squat or stoop to reach items on low shelves of off the floor

*              Routinely reach overhead, forward and underneath shelves, counters, tables and kitchen        equipment

*              Requires frequent motion of bending, wiping, sweeping, mopping, wrapping and squeezing

*              Frequent exposure to fluctuating temperatures in areas such as cooler, freezer and cooking   sections of restaurant

*              Occasional climbing requires for roof inspections
