About this job
The Hospice RN is a professional care giver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients, as part of an interdisciplinary team, for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/ instrumentation, and other health care team members.
REQUIRED:
* RN experience in acute care, home health or hospice.
* Current CA RN licensure.
* Current BLS Certification.
* Ability to provide appropriate and compassionate care to terminally ill patients and their families.
* Current CA drivers license and auto insurance.
Supplemental nurses availability/working requirements:
* Those nurses working 8 hour shifts must be available to work four shifts in a calendar month.
* Those working 12 hour shifts must be available to work three (3) shifts in a calendar month.
* All supplemental nurses must be available to work at least one (1) holiday between January 1 and June 30th and one (1) holiday between July 1st and December 31st of each calendar year.
Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta is a critical access hospital, located in northern California, offering patients a variety of medical services, including orthopedic and ophthalmologic surgery, cardiology, oncology, family medicine and more. We are an 25 bed facility located in the vicinity of Mt. Shasta, surrounded by a community of great schools, shops, galleries, performing arts, street fairs and natural markets.
