Basic Purpose Of The Job
Provide a full range of janitorial services for the Medical Center to include: Use of automatic floor machine in assigned areas; setting up meeting rooms; refuse collection, handling, and transport, general cleaning of walls, ceilings, stairs, windows, and furnishings. Incorporate guest relation skills in all daily activities.
Job Requirements
Minimum Education
Required Education: High school diploma/GED.
Minimum Work Experience
One year
Required Licenses/Certifications
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Machines: Vacuums, floor machines, burnisher
Essential Functions
Dust mops assigned floor area using clean 48 dust mop, and operates automatic floor machine as instructed to maintain a clean and attractive appearance.
Burnishes assigned floor on a routine basis to maintain a high gloss appearance.
Maintains hard surface floors, strips off old floor finish, and applies sealer/floor finish.
Cleans carpet using the appropriate method and prespots stains on areas of carpet.
Cleans, maintains and stores equipment when work is complete.
Sets up, breaks down, picks up trash and vacuums meeting rooms.
Conducts safe and sanitary collection, handling and transport of all refuse from assigned areas to the incinerator room or dumpster as directed.
Rinses out trash cart during the shift, as needed, and at the end of each shift in the incinerator room to ensure it is clean at all times.
Defers to patients and medical staff on elevators or in areas of congestion.
Complies with Health System policies and procedures related to the safe use of cleaning agents and the use of personal protective equipment.
