SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The primary purpose of this position is the direct supervision and coordination of maintenance and electronics personnel in the manufacturing areas. Their role is to directly support or arrange for additional technical support in the resolution of production related problems, coordination of unscheduled maintenance, work orders, repairs and modifications on manufacturing equipment as needed and change control documentation as required by operating procedures. This position will have responsibility for manufacturing maintenance, Maximo administration and the maintenance component procurement vendor relationship. This position will have direct reports of the Maintenance Supervisor and a Manufacturing Engineer responsible for Maximo.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Staff supervision responsibilities:

a. Selects and trains an effective maintenance staff.

b. Provides for continuing development and recognition of all subordinates.

c. Assures appropriate motivation, performance and productivity of assigned personnel.

d. Organizes and assigns work, instructs and guides employees in the performance of their work.

e. Assures the continuous training of all assigned personnel in the practice of safety and good housekeeping. Administers and enforces all company, plant, state, and federal safety rules and regulations.

f. Maintains conformance with company work rules and regulations, issues warnings for violations and administers approved disciplinary measures when necessary.

g. Preparation of Capital Expense Requests (CER's) and submission of proper close out forms upon project completion as required.

2. Analyzes and assures the effectiveness and accuracy of tooling and preventive maintenance used in the manufacturing operation. Diagnoses tooling and equipment malfunctions, expedites and coordinates repairs and/or replacement to avoid excessive downtime.

3. Review and coordinate with engineering on production validations and projects as well as process problems. Provide information and data and collaborate with global support departments regarding cost reductions, work simplification, production scheduling, labor planning, and process improvement.

4. Analyzes the production effectiveness of assigned operations and staff.

5. Drive activities and actions to enhance manufacturing OEE and customer service targets.

6. Drive maintenance optimization activities utilizing Kaizen methodologies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of process performance.

7. Ensure maintenance spend targets are met with focus on leveraging cost position improvements and maintenance component inventory levels are appropriate to usage levels.

8. Assist Manufacturing in the planning and directing of periodic mechanical training within the assigned areas.

9. Adhere to plant policies/procedures, department safety rules, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), ISO standards, and Good Housekeeping procedures.

10. Conduct mechanical skills test as required for technical candidates.

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Plan, construct, and develop operating procedures for devices according to assigned project requirements.

2. Perform monthly or quarterly project presentations to the plant staff.

3. Contribute as a Team Leader or Champion of CAPA projects as directed.

4. Work with Corporate Engineering, R&D, and OEM Departments as needed to support new equipment or product lines.

5. Have the ability to indirectly lead project teams.

6. Write Engineering Change Requests (ECRs).

7. Regularly write and execute Validation protocols.

8. Ability to perceive simple solutions to a broad concept of problems.

9. Other duties assigned with or without accommodation.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

A Bachelors Degree (B.S.) in Engineering or Technology from an accredited college or university or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Experience:

5-7 years of related experience and/or training.
