About this job

The Director of Food & Beverage is responsible for coordinating all phases of front of house operations as it relates to two restaurant outlets, coffee shop and meeting/banquet functions held in the Hotel. Individual has three direct reports, one dotted line (Catering Sales) and works closely with Executive Chef and Director of Marketing.

Participate in the solicitation of local group Food & Beverage business; maintain the services and reputation of Hotel and act as a management representative to group clients.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Achievement of budgeted food sales, beverage sales, labor costs and profitability.
  2. Must be able to create, manage and critique budget, actual sales and costs of operations to achieve financial objectives.
  3. Maintain a high level of customer interaction and ensure guest satisfaction.
  4. Timely analysis of Food & Beverage prices in relation to competition.
  5. Participation and input towards F&B Marketing activities and actively support social media initiatives.
  6. Training and development of direct reports.
  7. Lead the training efforts of new-hires, seasonal staffing and year-round employees.
  8. Engage and communicate with vendor partners to keep abreast of industry trends
  9. Development and maintenance of all department control procedures.
  10. Handle all Food & Beverage inquiries and ensure timely follow up on the same business day

 

  1. Completion of payroll and staff scheduling on a weekly basis.
  2. Attendance and participation at weekly Manager's meeting and routinely schedule departmental Food & Beverage Meeting

 

Requirements

 

  1. Individual must have prior restaurant management experience with minimum of three years including Bar and Restaurant oversight in free-standing or corporate restaurants.
  2. Individual must be safe-serve certified or complete same within 45 days.
  3. Individual must be ABC certified in the State of Delaware or complete same within 45 days.
  4. College degree in Business or Hospitality Management suggested, but not required. College degree required.
  5. Must be available to work with no schedule limitations.
