DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR

Title: Development Coordinator

Reports to:  Board of Directors

Location: Columbia, SC

Position Concept:

The Development Coordinator is charged with primary responsibility for the organization's development plan, generated as part of a strategic plan process. Position is responsible for plan, execution, and evaluation of fundraising for the organization. The Development Coordinator works closely with the Artistic Director, Business Manager, Board of Directors, and fundraising volunteers to enhance and support the overall mission of the organization and to assure that ample unrestricted and program funds are generated.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree with minimum two years fundraising and one year development experience required. Experience in arts related development highly preferred. Candidate should be detail-oriented and experienced in business development, networking, customer service, public relations and promoting. Candidate should have proven skills in relationship based development, both on an individual and corporate basis with development and promotion of Trustus Theatre in the community as top priority.

Responsibilities:

Individual and Corporate Giving

  • Raise money to support the mission of Trustus Theatre and overall operating budget
  • Secure sponsors for Regular Season productions as scheduled for Season #32 forward
  • Build individual and corporate membership base
  • Work closely with Artistic Director, Business Manager and Board of Directors to create an annual development plan for the organization
  • Lead efforts related to timely execution of the development plan

Board Support

  • Assist individual members from the Board of Directors in achieving the goals established in their resource development plan
  • Serve as the staff liaison to the Finance Committee
  • Provide monthly progress reports to Board of Directors

Grant Writing 

  • Research grant funding opportunities and write proposals
  • Coordinate grant reporting and acknowledgment with Board of Directors

 

 

Special Events 

  • Collaborate with Marketing Coordinator and Events Committees to achieve goals for special events as planned and scheduled through the year

 

Job Type: Full Time Position

                 Flexible hours

                 Weekly staff meetings and regular board meetings required

Salary: commensurate with experience
