CONTINGENT UPON AWARD OF CONTRACT

Performs Avionics, Electro/Environmental, and component systems maintenance. Is able to troubleshoot, repair and replace associated systems, both on and off equipment. Performs inspections, servicing, assists in aircraft movement, and scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on F-16 aircraft. Works for the Electronic Technician III - Avionics Lead.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Responsible for testing, inspection, repair, removal and replacement of avionic systems components on the F-16 aircraft.

* Repairs aircraft wiring.

* Performs operational checkout of aircraft avionics systems.

* Assists in launch, recovery, servicing, and ground handling of aircraft.

* Performs inspections, accomplishes refurbishment and phase maintenance.

* Prepares and maintains aircraft maintenance records and historical documents.

* Accomplishes maintenance manpower and aircraft maintenance actions using the Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS).

* Reviews and utilizes maintenance data collection reports.

* Monitors/reviews deficiency reports for adverse trends.

* Uses applicable technical orders/manuals when performing aircraft maintenance, time compliance technical order, and to troubleshoot aircraft.

* Performs in- progress and follow-up inspections to ensure quality has been performed.

* Researches, orders and receives aircraft parts.

* Monitors reports for supply difficulty items.

* Prepares parts for turn-in back into the supply system. Initiates material deficiency reports as required. Inventories aircraft support equipment.

* Maintains tools, hand and special, in a safe and serviceable condition. Reports unserviceable tools and equipment to appropriate responsible party.

* Annotates equipment tools inspection and condition documents.

* Checks serviceability and operates powered and non-powered support equipment.

* Complies with established policies, procedures and standards.

* Assists other mechanics/specialists as required.

* Complies with all safety, bioenvironmental, security and housekeeping standards.

* Complies with training requirements.

* Operates vehicles, both special purpose and regular as required.

* Must be willing to train to other aircraft maintenance tasks as required.

Must have a minimum of three years recent hands-on avionics maintenance experience and completed a military aviation avionics technical school. Two years (within the last five years) of F-16 avionics maintenance experience is desired.

* Knowledge of the use of hand and special tools, and testers is required

* Must have in-depth working knowledge of aircraft safety directives.

* Maintains infrared detecting system, airborne video, laser system and night vision system

* Performs battery maintenance

* May provide on-the-job training of new employees

* Assists assigned personnel in researching and requisitioning aircraft parts and components and in determining the reparability and serviceability of these assets

* Monitors bench stock items and tool inventory inspections

* Maintains supply discipline in the work center at all times, to include Materiel Deficiency Reporting, repair cycle asset processing and AWP/AWM status.

* Participates in work area safety and FOD prevention programs.

* Follows guidance and instruction to employees concerning technical orders, checklists, and hazardous materials.

* Actively participates in the Safety Program.

* Refers to hazardous material training and ensure HAZMAT processes are followed

* Assists in aircraft movement flight line FOD prevention walks.

* Completes maintenance documentation using IMDS and required forms.

* Services aircraft with fuel, oil, grease, hydraulic fluid, air, oxygen and nitrogen

* Launches and recovers aircraft, to include tie-down, cover, plug and pin removal and installation, marshalling, and assists on pilot preflight.

* Performs aircraft corrosion control procedures to include wash, wipe down, polish and vacuum.

* Performs aircraft preflight, thru-flight, basic post-flight and periodic/phase inspections

* Operates GSE, flight line vehicles and other support equipment as required.

* Must have an in-depth knowledge (aircraft movement and safety/hazards) of flight line operations.

* Must have an in-depth knowledge of aircraft technical orders/job guides/publications---read, interpret, follow and comprehend schematic diagrams, drawings, charts and technical publications.

* Must have a working knowledge (input and extract data) of IMDS

Must be able to work day shift, night shift, weekend duty, and travel as part of a maintenance recovery team or TDY as required.

Must be able to accommodate a flexible schedule as our shifts can change weekly based on the flying schedule.

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English

Must have a working knowledge of IMDS.

Must have a current Arizona driver's license, and be able to obtain and maintain a government flight line driver's license.

Must be able to obtain and maintain an interim secret government security clearance as a minimum.

Must be willing to train to other aircraft maintenance tasks as required

Practices good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention and safety at all times

Assists in upkeep of assigned facilities/grounds as required

Performs other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Work Environment:

The diversity of work conditions may range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subject individual to severe changes of temperature, wind, rain, etc. Will be required to work in areas where high noise hazards prevail

Physical Demands:

Work in some classifications will usually be accomplished in an outdoor flight line environment or maintenance hangar, as such requires the scope of physical movements and postures normally associated with on-equipment/aircraft activities. Typical physical activities include climbing, standing, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, extensive walking, and working in tiring, uncomfortable positions. May require lifting of objects whose weight normally will not exceed 50 pounds.
