About this job

Performs set-up, calibration, testing, tuning and troubleshooting of complex RF/MW circuits and components. May require use of a microscope.

Recognizes failures and set up problems and determines need for appropriate corrective action.

Operates a variety of programmable test equipment (i.e. automatic network analyzer, scalar analyzer, oscilloscope, pulse generator, meters, power supplies, etc.)

Works from written and verbal instructions, test specs, wiring diagrams and schematics.

Records and maintains test data.

May assist more experienced technicians with more complex test procedures.

May interface with Engineering to help solve design problems.

AAS degree in Electronics Technology or tech school graduate and a minimum of 10 years related experience are required. Must have understanding of RF/MW theory/measurements and proficiency with using spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and power meters. Must have the ability to troubleshoot down to the component level and perform mechanical tuning to meet performance specifications.
