SHIPPER SALES EXECUTIVE - Atlanta, GA

$150,000 total opportunity including base plus commissions.401(k).Health benefits.

As a Shipper Sales Executive you will play a crucial role in maturing the sales organization and bring a book of shipper relationships with you to deliver maximum profitability and customer satisfaction. This role is responsible for driving strategic revenue by leveraging, cultivating, and growing relationships with shippers in, eg, manufacturing, retail, chemical, automotive and other industry verticals. This role will utilize relationships with shippers and drive freight services into a base of owner operators and small fleets.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES :

  • Drive revenue through own shipper book of business
  • Focus on full truckload, partial truckload, and heavy LTL freight
  • Maintain, nurture and grow existing relationships with shippers in manufacturing, retail, chemical and other industry verticals
  • Making calls to capture market capacity from shippers
  • Negotiate at a high level to maximize freight spend share of wallet
  • Focus on profitable net revenue on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis
  • Visiting national shippers to further develop relationships
  • Complete qualification and vetting of new accounts which you are expected to add to your existing book of business

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree. Focus on Sales, Marketing, or Business a plus
  • EXPERIENCE: 5+ years direct shipper sales experience with minimum of 1 year with own active book of shipper business at a non-asset truck brokerage or 3PL

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES :

  • Active book of business (shippers, manufacturers, freight-forwarders, etc.)
  • Experience working with an inside sales team is a plus
  • Experience with Salesforce.com a plus
  • Deep and thorough understanding of the Class 6-8 transportation market including big rigs, box trucks, permitting, accessorials, and delivering a high quality of service to shipper customers
  • Proven ability to generate profitable net revenue on full truckload, partial truckload, and heavy LTL freight
  • Self-motivated, results driven, sales oriented
  • Strong desire to thrive in a fast-paced environment and performance based culture
  • Ability to change focus quickly to meet the demands of market conditions and/or company needs
  • Ability to proactively drive sales pipeline, coverage, and activities in support of delivering on negotiated revenue targets
  • Ability to sell value vs price
