NATURE’S GROVE MARKET is a brand-new store opening in the Fountaingrove neighborhood of Santa Rosa.  We offer a variety of departments looking to bring high quality products that represent our region.  A market with a deli, specialty cheese, the freshest produce, salad and juice bar.  We provide superior food and service, in a small neighborhood store format. 

Position Summary:
To ensure customer satisfaction by handling each customer with the best of you.   Prepare artisan sandwiches, portion and package deli items.  Slice and serve local and imported cheeses and meats.  Deli experience is preferred, but not necessary as long as you enjoy interacting with people and come with an attitude to learn and grow with our Nature’s Grove team.  We hire and promote individuals who; demonstrate solid judgment, seek out opportunities to make an impact, and are actively curious.  People who innovate and simplify, are passionate and inspiring and conduct themselves with the utmost integrity. 
Required Qualifications:
Ability to complete the following tasks:

• Greet, assist and thank all guests in a prompt, courteous and business-like manner
• Prepare, display/merchandise, serve and package deli food items
• Ready and customize sandwiches to order
• Slice and serve specialty cheeses
• Move inventory and food service items from back to front of house
• Request additional help when needed, ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business
• Maintain deli area sanitation and cleanliness in accordance with local laws and best practices
• Properly dispose of trash; sweep and clean deli floor area
• Follow proper hand washing and perishable food handling procedures
• Complete required paperwork, inventory, waste logs
• Maintain a safe work environment for team members, guests and vendors
• Unload and load shelves/coolers/cases - 35-pound maximum to a height of 6 feet
• Maintain a neat personal appearance including proper uniform and name tag
• Familiarize yourself with the total store layout in order to assist guests

 

Minimum Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age
Ability to complete the following tasks:

• Able to think quickly on the spot, communicate well, meet customer needs, exceed customer expectations
• Previous deli or food preparation experience (desired, not required)
• Ideal candidate should be responsible, provide great customer service, and work well with minimal supervision
• Consistently good attendance with no history of tardiness or absenteeism
• Ability to work a variety of shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
• Basic Math Skills
• Must have strong communication skills

Work Environment / Physical Demands:

·  Store temperatures may, at times, be colder or hotter than comfortable for active or sedentary tasks

·  Ability to move merchandise / inventory with appropriate equipment (e.g., tubs, carts and flats) to and from stockroom, walk-in, sales floor and food service area

·  The potential for prolonged standing, walking, squatting and/or bending.

·  Occasional high stress when dealing with systems/guests/team

·  Ability to enter the cooler and freezer thereby being subjected to cold temperatures for periods of time

Preferred Qualifications:

·  Previous retail customer service (not required)

·  Previous food preparation/deli experience (not required)
Education:

·  High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred License:

·  California Food Handlers Permit – or the ability to obtain one

Availability:

·  Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays) – regular attendance is required

·  Full and Part Time available – Immediate Openings

Compensation / Benefits:

·  Competitive Pay

·  Full time employees (30 hrs./week plus) option to receive Medical and Dental coverage after 60 days.    Employer pays 75% of premium cost. 

·  24 Hours Sick Leave per year after 90 day probationary period
