Applications for the July 2017cohort will be accepted until May 1st at 5:00 PM.
All newly licensed RNs with less than six months of acute RN are required to participate in the RN Residency program. Newly licensed nurses must apply for the Registered Nurse Residency position. Applications are accepted three times each year in March, June and October for cohorts beginning respectively in July, October and February. Responsibilities:
Successfully functions as a Registered Nurse as defined in Iowa Nursing Regulations and Practice Act. Provides nursing care for patients and families and maintains a practice environment that reflects the ANA Code for Nurses, Philosophy of Nursing at Iowa Health Des Moines within the structure of the Professional Nurse Practice Model and in collaboration with other care givers.
Other information:
Graduate of accredited nursing program. Newly licensed nurse within the last 6 months. Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa. Completion of residency program within the first 12 months of employment. Dept of Labor Level III (Medium) Work. Candidates must successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment strength and agility test at Medium Level of Work. Writes, reads, comprehends, and speaks fluent English.
