Subjects Needed:
-History, Drama, STEM Education, Arts (drawing, painting, or music), English (as a second language), Computer Programming, Business, Natural Science, Social Studies

 

A typical teaching day:
- The teacher will give 6 classes a day, from 9-12 in the morning and 2-5 in the afternoon, with a lunch break in between. Each class is around 45-60 minutes.

- There are around 25-30 Chinese students in each class. They are from Grade 4-8 (not separated by grade), and many of their English proficiency needs strong improvement.

- For the entire teaching session, you will need to make lesson plans for each day (we'll provide the teaching materials in late May), and repeat one of them 6 times a day. Then you move on to another planned lesson on the next day.

- When making lesson plans, please take the English proficiency and the age of the students into consideration, and make the class interesting and interactive. Your lessons should not only expose students to the academic content, but also to the interactive, cooperative learning style that is expected in most American high schools. Students will be expected to actively participate, think critically, analyze text and provide opinions. 

Requirements:
- Relevant teaching experience in one of the following content areas: History, Arts, Drama, STEM, Computer Programming, Business, Natural Science, English, Social Studies. Elementary and middle school teaching experience preferred.
- Basic computer skills and a general understanding of Chinese culture.
- Ability to teach non-English speakers and be flexible in scheduling to meet the needs of the overall program.
- Good health condition to travel internationally, and covered by travel insurance
- Obtain a Chinese F-Visa on your own cost. Supporting documents are provided.
- No criminal record.
