SUMMARY: Supervise instructional and support staff and coordinate programmatic activities to ensure program compliance with Federal, state, local regulations and corporate policies, practices and procedures.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Assists in the selection, placement, and evaluation of educational staff.
  2. Oversees scheduling and training for new instructors.
  3. Conducts classroom observations and meets with faculty on adjustments to curriculum, instructional strategies, etc.
  4. Reviews program’s performance, objectives, and goals; and prepares and presents reports to the Dean of Education.
  5. Ensures that academic and career and technical programs meet performance outcomes and benchmarks (i.e. CASAS, enrollment, completion, placement and licensure)
  6. Ensures that the accreditation items and activities are implemented.
  7. Documents on-going activities and programs.
  8. Directs assigned staff in the educational program to ensure that curricula are developed to include course competencies that are aligned with appropriate educational and/or industry standards.
  9. Assists with reporting requirements to funding sources, accrediting agencies, school licensing agency, partner organizations, etc.
  10. Assists in monitoring program budgets and makes recommendations to stay on target with program spending.
  11. Participates in the recruitment of students and ensures that enrollment numbers are being met.
  12. Attends various meetings, networks with community groups and other agencies to ensure coordination relating to school/division needs.
  13. Ensures contract compliance with funding source, outside agencies and/or schools.
  14. Maintains a thorough knowledge of school and grant regulations and various contract requirements to provide recommendations to management for input into decision-making process.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in a related field and six years’ directly related experience; or 10 years’ directly related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

COMPUTER SKILLS: Moderate computer skills required for data entry, Word, Excel, and other software programs, as required for the position.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:  Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:  Access to transportation, California driver’s license, and minimum auto insurance as required by law. Must maintain a good driving record.
