We have part-time and full-time openings for Line Cooks. Must be able to work various shifts per week, and have at least 1-year line cook/prep cook experience to be considered. 

Requirements

Job Summary: The Kitchen Line Cook is responsible for food preparation, presentation, recipe adherence and quality control. All food must be prepared according to specific company procedure and instruction. Food must be prepared in a safe and timely manner; time goals (ticket times) must be met. The Line Cook must be a team player who can multi-task and work with a high sense of urgency. They must also possess excellent listening and communication skills. The Line Cook may be required to work Take- out window, Dine- in window, grill, fryer, presses, soups, salads, and other assigned stations.

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Report to work on time and as scheduled. Must be able to clock in & out correctly on a daily basis.
  • Ensures that they adhere to company policies and procedures at all times.
  • Be able to work in a fast paced, limited space, high volume environment, paying attention to detail.
  • Must be able to multi-task and have excellent time management skills.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, being able to energize and be a team player.
  • Ability to follow directions.
  • Must be certified in Safe Food Handling with an understanding of local, state and federal health and sanitation laws.
  • Contribute to maintaining a consistent “A” grading from the health department throughout the year.
  • Assures that high standards of sanitation and cleanliness are maintained throughout the kitchen areas at all times.
  • Prepares food according to all recipes and guidelines and changing it as needed to accommodate the customer.
  • Wearing gloves at all times when handling food products as per Company policy.
  • Maintain all areas of the kitchen clean, neat, and safe at all times.
  • Assures that they assist in achieving a score of 90 % or better on all Health Dept and Everclean audits.
  • Complying with all food storage expectations using correct labeling and correct times of preparation.
  • Temperature control is being monitored throughout the day. Keeping food out of the “Temperature Danger Zone” of 41 to 135 degrees Fahrenheit for all uncooked food products.
  • Cross training of all aspects within a Line Cook position. Including the preparation, re-stocking, and dishwashing of product as necessary.
  • Handling all kitchen items such as knifes, containers, slicer, grill, fryer, and pressers with caution at all times.
  • Continue to look for different ways to improve daily kitchen operations.
  • Be able to interact with customers, colleagues, supervisors, and all levels of management in a positive and effective manner.
  • Ability to work a varying schedule complying with business needs and on an as needed basis.
  • And other duties as assigned to you.

Customer Service:

  • Assures that all products are consistent and maintain quality standards so that the customer is satisfied each time.
  • Be able to answer all guest “product” related questions with accuracy. For example, ingredients, sugar content, proper storage and allergens.
  • Tactfully deal with guest related issues in regards to product and also offer alternative suggestions/recommendations when guest request cannot be fulfilled.
  • Fill in where needed to ensure excellent customer service and efficient operations.

Physical Demands of the Job: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to use hands and fingers, to handle, feel or take hold of objects, and to talk or hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel or bend. Must be able to work in varying temperatures ranging from 0° to 90° due to entering refrigerated areas and working near ovens. The employee may be required to lift up to 50 lbs. The responsibilities and duties of the Kitchen Line Cook are not limited to the above and may include other duties as required.
