Position Overview:

In keeping with the Pacific Central Coast Health Center's philosophy, the Receptionist/Medical Assistant, under the direction of the Director of Operations and site coordinator, will assist licensed medical staff in the preparation of

patients for delivery of services utilizing basic administrative clerical and technical skills. Duties include but are not limited to: Front Office - handling incoming calls and direct them as necessary. Register and pre-register patients, ensure

insurance authorizations have been obtained if required. Schedule appointments and coordinate procedures as necessary.

Inform and educate patients on preparations for scheduled exams. Enter orders using computer system and handle super-bill as necessary. Take payments. Back Office - assist with procedures as needed, process specimens/lab samples

as needed and take vital signs.

Minimum Requirements:

* One - three years experience working in a health clinic setting or physician office, required.

* BLS required.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Phlebotomy certification preferred.

* Certified Medical Assistant preferred.

* Bilingual, Spanish speaking, preferred.

Special Skills:

* Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to establish and maintain effective workingrelationships.

* Demonstrates knowledge of the principles, standard practices,procedures and equipment utilized in front and back office medical management.

* Ability to coordinate patient care

* Computer skills in Excel, Word and electronic medical records

* Knowledge of medical terminology and basic procedures.

* Self-motivated and able to achieve results through good organizational skills.

* Reacts calmly and efficiently in emergencies and unpredictable situations.
