Position Description:

Provides direct patient care as a provider in the SMART Pain Practice and is physically available for any and all emergencies in the SMART Pain Practice whenever there are patients on site. Participates in all QA meetings

 

Essential Duties:

  • Perform initial patient screenings and patient history and physical examinations
  • Update patient records and check records for accuracy at each patient appointment
  • Determine the need for follow-up appointments and further treatment options
  • Deliver quality care while maintaining all company metrics pertaining to productivity
  • Serve as the resource patients need for ongoing care information, counseling and provide guidance for any patients with critical conditions
  • Perform job in accordance with SMART Pain Mission, vision, and goals
  • Exercise confidentiality in all areas, abiding by HIPAA rules and regulations
  • Performs all duties in an independent manner with minimal direction and supervision
  • Adheres to the Letter of Agreement approved contract to work as a Nurse Practitioner in collaboration with a SMART physician within the CRNP scope of practice.
  • Recognizes and performs duties which need to be performed although not directly assigned
  • Actively participates in the Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement Program.
  • Maintains a working relationship with physicians and ensures accurate interpretation of the plan of care.
  • Communicates relevant information to physicians and staff to maintain continuity of care.
  • Promotes smooth interaction with other departments and fosters strong interdepartmental relations.
  • Communicates pertinent information to administrator(s) and executive committee.
  • Delegate's adequate authority to staff MAs to properly perform assigned responsibilities.
  • Performs other duties as required by the Medical Director, Staff Physicians, Practice Manager.

  • Demonstrates sound judgment and reasoning when investigating and solving problems.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment in respecting the confidentiality of patient and employee information.
  • Seeks guidance and direction in the performance of responsibilities and duties.
  • Promotes and demonstrates exceptional customer service skills

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Possesses a valid Maryland Nurse Practitioner License.
  • 2-year clinical expertise in Pain Management nursing preferred.
  • Current CPR certification.
