OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Timely and efficient processing of batch food items.
• Responsible for cleanliness and organization of work area adhering to food safety and health standards.
• Work from a daily prep list.
• Support all other cooks in their food preparation tasks.
• Works efficiently and effectively to gather, wash, cut, season, cook and store quality ingredients.
• Prioritizes and organizes tasks for speed and quality assurance.
• Must understand how to properly use, clean and maintain all equipment; i.e., Cryovac machine, Rational, Hobart, Dough Divider etc.

Job Requirements
MINIMUM SKILL / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
* Entry Level Position: 3-4 years cooking experience preferred.
* Basic understanding of major kitchen equipment.
* Basic knowledge of cooking techniques.
* Some knife skills a must.
* Good knowledge of multitasking abilities.
* Ability to withstand large workloads, work under pressure and take initiative in a fast paced environment.
* Must have a neat appearance and be well groomed.
* Must possess current CITY OF AUSTIN HEALTH DEPARTMENT FOOD HANDLERS CERTIFICATE.


Additional Information
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Must be able to bend, squat, stretch or stand for extended periods of time
* Occasionally lifting or pushing up to 50lbs.
