SUMMARY
Performs a wide variety of tasks in support of manufacturing/production of concrete mixer and refuse truck parts and bodies. Responsible for preparing parts and equipment for paint including removing previously applied paint, cleaning and degreasing, smoothing surfaces and protecting unpainted surfaces by masking. These duties require strong attention to detail to adequately prepare the trucks for the next stage in the high-quality manufacturing process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Wash, clean, and wipe down vehicles to be painted
2. Remove and replace all components as required for painting and sanding
3. Mask, paper or grease components when appropriate
4. Operate necessary equipment (dual action hand sander, electric lifts, etc.)
5. Use basic hand tools and other small power tools associated with equipment and prep work prior to painting operations
6. Perform minor bodywork and maintain condition of vehicle or component through the entire paint process
7. Train and work in various areas of production in response to production demands
8. Identification, safe handling, and appropriate disposal of materials
9. Follow verbal and written work instructions
10. Attention to detail necessary to adhere to quality standards
11. Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
12. Regular attendance required
13. All other duties and responsibilities that are assigned
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* High School Diploma or GED
* 6+ months of experience in a manufacturing or general labor industry
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1+ year(s) of experience in a paint-related occupation
