Job Description:

3M is seeking a Merchandising Specialist for the US Business Services Organization located in Maplewood, MN.

Job Summary:

The person hired for the position of Merchandising Specialist will help create and operationalize merchandising programs for US Business Groups, including Electronic and Energy Business Group (EEBG) and other business groups. The primary responsibility will be to lead divisions marketing and business leadership through the annual merchandising planning process; providing strategic influence, managing the timeline and identifying areas for opportunity and efficiency. These merchandising programs will effectively drive desired channel partner behavior that generates efficient growth for 3M. Prepare and educate on future ERP functionality and gaps, guiding them to a seamless transition.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

* Active participant and collaborator with divisions marketing and business leaders in the design, approval, set-up, communication and implementation of the annual merchandising and incentive based programs.

* Continuously bench mark current processes and collaborate with other merchandising specialists to define standardized processes relative to new merchandising programs, approvals, governance and ability to operationalize with current/future resources.

* Inventory all current merchandising programs

* Manage of programs that will pay growth rebates and claim based market development funds to channel partners or direct customers.

* Route merchandising plan documents for approval

* Consult, lead and drive ERP merchandising process compliance and readiness with divisions.

* Help guide rebate accrual activity management team

* Lead cross functional teams (USBSO, Corporate IT, Web Development, etc.) through the development, implementation, training and customer communication of the electronic annual enrollment process. Generate monthly reports on merchandising plans channel partner enrollment status

* Provide daily operational and transactional oversight of Market Development Fund (MDF) program activity per division guidelines and corporate compliance policies.

* Adapts differing techniques and methods to deal with variations in work conditions and operations to solve complex problems

* Leads the development and implementation of improvements and/or solutions to work rebate and MDF processes and tools as well as leading for change

* Reports to upper management on key milestones, budget, and critical business initiatives.

* Analyzes channel partner compliance with terms and conditions of the merchandising programs

* Consults divisions on how rebate and MDF resources should be allocated based on design of merchandising program.

* Works across sales districts to confirm common customers have similar programs, terms and conditions.

* Performs complex analysis on customer and channel partner rebate and MDF initiatives to evaluate performance and recommend changes.

* Leads governance team reviewing program out of policy requests.

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university

* Minimum of one (1) year of experience in marketing, merchandising, communication, finance, or auditing

Preferred Qualifications:

* Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) from an accredited university

* Project management experience

* Experience using intermediate functions in Microsoft Excel, such as v-lookups and pivot tables

* Experience working with cross-functional teams, including sales representatives, marketers, management, end-user customers, etc.

* Experience communicating and working with third party vendors

* Understanding of pricing-related 3M systems, processes, and databases

Location: Maplewood, MN

Travel: May include up to 10% travel

Relocation: Is not authorized
