? To plan and provide nutritious meals to all residents on a daily basis, ensuring food purchased is fresh and within budget

? Ensure all health and safety and environmental health standards are achieved and maintained

Description

We are currently looking to recruit a full-time Cook/Chef at Somerset senior living. The role includes :

Reporting to the nursing administrator and your role in summary would require you to:
- to ensure that varied meals are prepared on a daily basis
- to maintain the kitchen area to keep it in line with hygiene regulations

MAIN DUTIES

- to prepare a four weekly menu by consulting the homes residents and manager
- to prepare, cook and serve meals ensuring that all special diet needs are respected taking into consideration their nutritional needs
- to prepare any drinks and snacks throughout the shift and prepare tea time meals
- to monitor all kitchen activities by ensuring high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained as well as stock control, monitoring and re-ordering
- to ensure all records including Food Hygiene are kept up to date
- to supervise all other kitchen staff in conjunction with the home's manager

Experience is very helpful but the most important thing is good communication and an empathy with caring for older people. Applicant will be required to undergo training suited to the relevant job.
