Our global operations and connected expertise enable us to provide cutting-edge, relevant and cost-effective solutions that help our clients safeguard and enrich society and the world we live in. **Job Summary** AECOM has a great opportunity for an **Electrical Engineering Student Intern** supporting our program in Springfield, VA during the 2017 summer season. The selected candidate should have the ability to be a role model, client-focused, impactful and decisive. The EE Intern will provide support to base and facility operations for a government client, and be expected to be on-site a minimum of 8 hours within normal Government business hours. The EE Intern will provide technical support on all electrical systems under the supervision of a professional Electrical Engineer. Essential responsibilities include performing assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities; assist and work under onsite staff licensed PE Electrical Engineers to perform troubleshooting of systems; assist in preparation of designs, quantity calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings; use computer software as a tool for solving basic architectural problems; maintain conformance with building standards, established architectural practices and applicable building codes; work under the lead license PE EE's direction to ensure the building modifications comply with the current National Electric Codes; perform all duties in a safe manner - AECOM enforces a safety culture whereby all employees have the responsibility for continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment. As appropriate, interns are responsible for completing all safety training requirements. AECOM can offer interns a fulltime position upon meeting the following: + Successful university graduation from an Electrical Engineering Program. + Successful performance as an intern. + Application for and receipt of a government TS/SCI clearance. Applicants must be a US citizen to obtain a security clearance. **Minimum Requirements** + Currently in pursuit of Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. + A university student with no more than two academic years remaining before earning a degree.
