GENERAL FUNCTION:

Identifies and meets the counseling needs of all assigned students through individual and group counseling sessions focusing on problems of substance use and abuse.Designs and implements Center-wide substance program, which relates to the prevention of substance use and abuse.Assume major responsibility for in-service training of other Counselors in substance use and abuse counseling techniques.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Social work preferred with one year experience working as a Substance Abuse Counselor.

 

Substitution:
Education and experience above the high school level may be combined to meet the minimum requirements for this position. One year of college education may be substituted for two years of Job Corps experience or experience in a similar area.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES:

  • Must be certified by a recognized state or national Credentialing Board
