About this job

ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS:

1. Perform scheduledpreventive maintenance as assigned by supervisor in accordance with thePreventive Maintenance schedule.

2. Adhere to plantpolicies/procedures, department EHS rules, Good Manufacturing Practices(GMP's), ISO 13485 regulations and Good Housekeeping procedures.

3. Shall operate in amanner that protects the health and safety of its employees/visitors andoperate in a manner that conserves energy, natural resources and protects theenvironment.

4. Complete allpaperwork pertaining to the finished product and maximo system being producedaccording to established guidelines in the manufacturing procedures. Prepareand maintain required maintenance equipment records.

5. Maintain and orderrepair parts as required.

6. Use ofmicrometers, dial calipers, and other precision measuring instruments toperform dimensional and physical inspections or repairs.

7. Report any unusualcircumstances to supervisor and perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

8. Basic computerskills with windows based programs.

9. Responsible forthe observation of department regulations and to use personal protectiveequipment (PPE) as required; must be safety conscious and Lockout/Tag-outtrained.

10. Cross-train and support where needed in the facility.

DEPARTMENTSPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:

1. Maintain andrepair of assembly machines.

2. Interface withfacility maintenance for machine installation.

3. Troubleshootequipment for defective or worn components and install replacements asnecessary; diagnose failure causes and make recommendations for correctiveactions.

4. Set up variousproduction machines including hydraulic and ancillary equipment according toprocedures and product specifications utilizing small hand tools, i.e.wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, drills and channel locks, drill press,grinders, and associated tool room equipment.

5. Monitor machineryand process goals during shift and make adjustments as necessary to ensureoptimum performance of processes.

6. Interpret engineering drawings, schematicdiagrams, or formulas and confer with management or engineering staff todetermine quality and reliability standards. Uses ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 samplingstandard, part drawings, and specifications to determine inspection and testingrequired as well as acceptable quality levels.

7. Diagnose andtroubleshoot equipment malfunction and either repair equipment or arrange fortechnical support and assist with repairs.

8. Transporthazardous waste to accumulation areas.

9. CompleteAnnual Hazardous Waste (RCRA) refresher training.

10. Perform operator and/or set up duties asrequired.

MINIMUMREQUIREMENTS:

Education:

High School Diploma or GED. One year certificate from college or technical school (machinist, engineering technology); or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Experience:

5-6 years medical device manufacturing related experience or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Skills/Qualifications:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees in the organization. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals. Ability to calculate rate and percent and interpret basic graphs. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving general concrete variables in standardized situations. Basic computer skills with windows based programs.
