SUMMARY OFPOSITION:

The primary purpose of thisposition is to serve as a working technical leader, keep up-to-date records andmaintain databases, coordinate preventive maintenance work orders and generalrepair and upkeep of buildings and equipment in the plant. This position will assist in training anddevelopment of the Maintenance Technician's workforce within thedepartment/area assigned. Also assist in non-conformance and failure investigators,customer complaints. Responsible for assignedwork orders and unscheduled maintenance and repairs of equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Perform scheduledpreventive maintenance as assigned by supervisor in accordance with thePreventive Maintenance schedule.

2. Coordinate andperform unscheduled maintenance, repairs and modifications on assignedequipment as needed and document changes as required by operating procedures. Assistin the maintenance of manufacturing equipment and provide instruction to MaintenanceTechnician I personnel during maintenance or repair. Provide technicalassistance as requested and arrange for technical support if necessary tocomplete repairs.

3. Ensure properset-up of production machines and ancillary equipment according to proceduresand product specifications at the completion of assigned tasks.

4. Adhere to plantpolicies/procedures, department EHS rules, Good Manufacturing Practices(GMP's), ISO 13485 regulations and Good Housekeeping procedures.

5. Shall operate in amanner that protects the health and safety of its employees/visitors andoperate in a manner that conserves energy, natural resources and protects theenvironment.

6. Complete all paperwork pertaining tothe finished product and maximo system being produced according to establishedguidelines in the manufacturing procedures. Prepare and maintain requiredmaintenance equipment records.

7. Maintain and order repair parts asrequired.

8. Report any unusualor unacceptable circumstances to supervisor.

9. Responsible for the observation ofdepartment regulations and to use personal protective equipment (PPE) asrequired; must be safety conscious and Lockout/Tag-out trained.

10. Transporthazardous waste to accumulation areas.

11. CompleteAnnual Hazardous Waste (RCRA) refresher training.

12. Cross-trainand support where needed throughout the facility.

13. Completechange control documentation for machine repairs and corrections.

DEPARTMENTSPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:

1. Ability tointerpret technical writing and procedures.

2. Ability to use apersonal computer equipped with Microsoft Word and Excel.

3. Electrical/Electronictroubleshooting abilities, with a working knowledge of electrical controls,motors and feedback components.

4. Assistdepartmental personnel in monitoring the performance of equipment andpersonnel.

5. Assist in the trainingof Set-ups and Maintenance Technicians on departmental procedures, productionequipment and safety.

6. Provide supportfor projects, production improvements and other authorized groups as assignedby supervisor.

7. Assist in ensuringproduct quality and quantity goals of assigned areas. Promote production andscrap reduction through timely response to equipment failures and innovation indocumented design changes

8. Analyze productdefects utilizing calipers, micrometers or gages and initiate corrective actionwith supervisor, Quality Assurance, and/or department manager.

9. Monitor machineryand processes of assigned equipment and make adjustments as necessary to ensureoptimum performance of process.

10. Ability to perform work in assignedskill set (Lube Mixing Grinders,Sanders, etc.)

11. Must write Engineering ChangeRequest (ECR) forms and initiate Change Control process as needed.

12. Computer knowledge in MS Word andExcel.

13. Inventory management.

14. Ability to interpret electricalschematic.

MINIMUMREQUIREMENTS:

Education:

One year certificate from college or technical school (machinist, engineering technology) preferred or equivalent combination of training and experience

Experience:

4-5 years medical device manufacturing related experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Must have the ability to provide technical leadership to personnel in the assigned area. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees in the organization. Ability to present information and respond to questions. Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals. Ability to calculate rate and percent and interpret basic graphs. Basic Metrology knowledge. Safety committee action items. CTQ/training: Crimp certification and testing.

Must be proficient in the use of small hand tools and electrical hand tools. Must be proficient with necessary measuring equipment (Dial calipers, micrometers, gages, et.) Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to make rational decisions in the absence of supervision.
