Responsibilities*

4A Neurology/Neurosurgery:

This 32 bed unit provides care to patients on the Neurology, Neurosurgery and includes an Epilepsy Monitoring Unit as well and a 6-bed stroke unit with cardiac monitoring.

The unit provides care for the following diagnoses: brain and spinal cord tumors, epilepsy, stroke, cerebral aneurysm, neuropathy, Myasthenia Gravis, head and spinal cord trauma.

Salary & Nursing Framework Level:

This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C,includes B.

Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.

Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level E.

Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position. Posting may be filled after the initial 5-day posting period. Applicants who have left the UMPNC bargaining unit must include on their resume dates of past employment including months and years of service along with effort. Positions less than 20 hours/week may be combined.

Required Qualifications*

Current Michigan RN license.

* *GN applicants will be considered. The selected candidate must have successfully passed the NCLEX and be licensed as a RN in the State of Michigan before effective date of hire.

Desired Qualifications*

3 - 5 years neuro experience.

Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.

BSN preferred

Work Schedule

Hours: 36 hours per week with every other weekend.

Shift: Evenings; 8 hour shifts avaialble

Location: University Hospital-4A, Neurology and Neurosurgery

All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.
