Job Summary The College of Education, Health, and Human Services (CEHHS) at the University of Michigan-Dearborn is seeking a Training Specialist Senior who is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in good standing with the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB), to develop an academic and practical training program aimed at increasing the number of Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) and Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBA) in Michigan. Candidates should have a strong background in the following: administering verbal behavior assessments (including ABLLS and VB MAPP), conducting language, play, and skill-based assessments; behavioral assessment, functional behavior assessment and functional analysis methodology; program development and program implementation for skill development in the areas of communication, social interactions, academics, and functional living skills, in addition to programming for the reduction of aberrant behavior. The Training Specialist Senior administers, organizes, and conducts training and educational programs in connection with management and promotional development, on-the-job training, and employee orientation. The successful candidate maintains records of training activities and employee/student progress, monitors effectiveness of programs, and makes programming decisions based upon collected data. The Training Specialist Senior supports activities and events for, and cultivates relationships with, internal and external constituents such as students, human services organizations, and community leaders. S/he recommends, implements, promotes, and evaluates program initiatives, including community outreach.

Responsibilities* *Design, develop, execute, and deliver curricula to train and certify RBTs and BCaBAs. This position is interdependent with an instructional appointment when teaching during the academic year.

*Work collaboratively as part of a comprehensive team to provide services to individuals with developmental disabilities

*Provide supervision of BCaBA and RBT staff/trainees per the parameters of the BACB

*Design, develop, and execute a program to recruit RBT and BCaBA trainees by reaching out both within CEHHS and the University at large, and through developed partnerships with various local organizations

*Work collaboratively to facilitate ongoing community-based seminar series

*Recruit, coordinate, and act as liaison between CEHHS and Autism Centers in the delivery of RBT and BCaBA training

*Serve as mentor to trainees

*Collect and analyze data on the trainees, training program, and economic impact of the training program, and reassess/modify the program as necessary to achieve established goals

*Prepare technical and other documents to disseminate findings to various audiences

*Participate in research and presentation opportunities at local and national conferences

*Establish and manage internships/training programs/practica experiences that include providing supervision for those in training, providing all necessary supervisory feedback, and maintaining documentation of feedback and supervision per the university's and BACB's requirements

*Maintain current BCBA status through the completion of required CEUs (including required ethics and supervisory CEUs) and the regular renewal and recertification process mandated by the BACB

Required Qualifications* *BCBA certification in good standing with the BACB (current certification, no ethical violations)

*Solid knowledge of the fundamental principles and practice of Applied Behavior Analysis. This includes functional analysis methodology, verbal behavior, and ethical standards in behavior analysis

*Solid knowledge of the behavioral, cognitive, educational, vocational, social, communication, and functional skills/adaptive behavior challenges in individuals with developmental disabilities

*Ability to work independently, with great attention to details, and prioritize tasks/goals for self and others

*Ability to organize assigned tasks, prioritize heavy workload, and develop comprehensive timetables and strategies to meet multiple and constantly changing deadlines

*Demonstrated commitment to affirmative action, diversity, and inclusion. This position will perform duties of a sensitive and confidential nature that require discretion, independent judgment, and sound decision-making skills

*Effective written and verbal communication skills with individuals and groups at all professional levels

*At least two years of experience providing services to individuals with developmental disabilities, including at least 120 hours of direct services to individuals with complex behavior problems

Desired Qualifications* *Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or a closely related field
