Clinic/Department: 7540 SAH INTEGRATIVE HEALING

Hospital: ST ANTHONY MEDICAL CAMPUS

Schedule: Part Time .7 FTE (56 hours per pay period)

Shift: Monday-Friday and occasional weekends. Hours will be between 8am-8pm and will vary depending on department needs

General Purpose

Assists with the implementation of Centura's mission, vision, philosophy and values and specifically for massage therapy operations and services. Provides massage therapy to maximize the physical, emotional and spiritual wellness and quality of life of all patients.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Provides massage therapy for inpatients, outpatients, employees, physicians, volunteers and the community

Integrates massage therapy in individual's unique treatment plan and demonstrates the knowledge and flexibility to appropriately adapt massage therapy positions and techniques to the changing needs of diverse populations with a spectrum of health conditions

Evaluates and records treatments and patients' progress; reports to and collaborates with patient care interdisciplinary team

Assists in designing and supporting an evaluative process for the massage therapy program to provide value-based outcome data.

Follows departmental and Centura policies, procedures and regulatory standards (Joint Commision) including patient safety and confidentiality, and workplace safety

Maintains technical expertise through completing competency evaluations in specified timeframe and reviewing current literature/research; enhances professional growth and development through continuing education; maintains massage state registration

Promotes a positive, professional work environment through active listening, clear and concise communication and a responsive approach to facilitate effective teamwork and task completion within the department and hospital; promotes positive public relations within the hospital and to the community at large

Demonstrates professional behavior as evidenced by strong work ethic, teamwork, and personal integrity and accountability.

Education or Formal Training (Certifications

Graduation from massage therapy school is required

Due to varying education and accreditation requirements for massage therapy schools, graduation from a COMTA (Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation) approved school with a minimum of 1000 hours of training is preferred. Active State of Colorado Massage Therapy License is required effective 7/1/2014

BLS is required.

For massage therapist staffing specific massage therapy programs/services, advanced training or certification in those areas is preferred. For example, in the lymphedema program, manual lymph drainage training and certification as a Lymphedema Therapist through Lymphology Association of North America is preferred. For massage therapists staffing birthing/maternal massage therapy program, advanced maternity massage therapy training is preferred. For massage therapists staffing oncology massage therapy program, advanced oncology massage therapy training is preferred. For reflexology, a minimum of 400 hours reflexology training and successful completion of the American Reflexology Certification Board exam is preferred. Bachelors or Masters Degree in other health related field is preferred.

Knowledge and Experience

Minimum of five years of clinical experience is preferred and hospital based experience is also preferred

Minimum of two years of teaching experience with leadership skills is also preferred.

Other related experiences such as Program Coordinator, Research experience, additional titles and trainings preferred

Must have the ability to work in diverse interdisciplinary teams and adjust treatments to fit diverse patient population types
