Banner Health is looking for a Biomed Equipment Specialist to join the Integrated Clinical Technology team in Greeley, CO. This team works with clinical technologies that provide direct patient care with an IT component. This team support many different clinical applications from a departmental, facility based system and then moving up to enterprise applications. They also work with IT, Clinical Engineering and the departmental clinical staff to define, develop standards and protocols for the use of these Clinical technologies. In addition, the department also has responsibility for planning, implementing, and provide on-going support for integrated clinical systems.

This position requires 5 plus years of work experience with applicable specialty equipment.

The ideal candidate will also have the below qualifications:

* 5 plus years of IT experience

* Experience with networking, desktop and application support

* EHR experience

* Medical imaging background

* Biomed experience

This position will require:

Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing functional expertise on complex specialized biomedical devices in an assigned specialty area. Executes professional-level inventory assessments/audits and makes recommendations for specialty equipment purchases. Reviews preventative maintenance standards for improvements and makes recommendations for more effective scheduled maintenance activities. Serves as a resource and provides assistance to other staff in areas concerning specialty, including providing training and instruction to others on specialty equipment. Travel across multiple sites may be required.

Essential Functions

Repairs, installs, inspects, troubleshoots, and calibrates equipment in a specialty area. Implements preventative maintenance and electrical safety inspections. Oversees the work of external contractors/vendors engaged in providing services for specialized equipment.

Serves as a subject-matter expert on applicable specialty equipment, including providing training and instruction to others on specialty equipment.

Assists in the evaluation and selection of new equipment, accessories and supplies in area of specialty. Participates in developing detailed purchase specifications for new specialty equipment.

Provides customer relations and resolves specialty equipment service problems by ensuring that clinical capability is restored as quickly as possible. Maintains communication with customers regarding the status of specialty equipment repairs. Proactively solves technology issues when appropriate. Coordinates/schedules service (self, vendor and, when appropriate, other technicians) via management of customer expectations. Performs device investigations related to regulations and/or incident reporting.

Maintains documentation associated with specialty equipment.

Utilizes applicable automated hardware and software applications and diagnostic service software appropriate to the equipment being serviced.

Documents all work performed, maintains parts, supplies, tools, test equipment and technical literature by completing service reports and supplemental productivity documentation in an accurate and timely manner. Maintains an accurate and current parts inventory. Assists manager in maintaining a comprehensive library of technical literature.

Minimum Qualifications

Must possess a strong knowledge of electronics as normally obtained through the completion of an Associates degree in electronics or equivalent training and 5 years progressively responsible work experience with applicable specialty equipment.

Must possess a valid drivers license and be eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy.

Must be proficient at reading and analyzing schematic diagrams, including analog and digital circuits and possess a working knowledge of electrical and electronic fundamentals, including DC and AC circuits, semiconductor theory, digital circuit theory and microprocessor theory. Must also be proficient in Windows PC and network operating systems, PC repair, and have fundamental knowledge in Local Area Network configuration and troubleshooting. Must be knowledgeable in JCAHO standards for the Environment of Care. Must have highly developed interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Certification by the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) is preferred.

Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
