About this job

This is an Urgent Care Office position that delivers patient care with the knowledge of a Nurse Practitioner. Must demonstrate the clinical ability to work as the primary NP at the Urgent Care Center.

* Ability to perform duties in accordance with the customary rule of ethics and conduct of the State of Arizona Board of Nursing and other such regulating bodies.

* Prescribe dosages and instruct patient's in correct usage. This includes use of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques and disposal methods.

* Participates in patient/family teaching and discharge planning, effectively utilizing the Nursing Process.

* Provides leadership by working cooperatively and effectively with physicians, ancillary staff and other administrative and support personnel in maintaining the standards of professional nursing practice in the Urgent Care setting.

* Provides the basic leadership required of a Nurse Practitioner to subordinate staff at the Center.

* Maintains quality delivery of patient care by completing patient assignments in compliance with the Nursing Process, the Arizona Nurse Practice Act, and State regulations and established Urgent Care Policies and Procedures.

* Strives to consistently give all patients, family members and others served positive, supportive interactions based on current Standards of Behavior.

* Respond to requests and inquiries from the general public in person and over the telephone.

* Interpret the application of OSHA and HIPAA laws. Maintain quality, safety and infection control standards.

* Exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive, complex and confidential patient issues and situations.

* Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of a workday and ongoing matters.

* Learn computer software programs, enter and maintain accurate data and statistical information in order to consistently prepare clear and concise reports, correspondence and other written materials.

* Other duties as assigned and required in the operation of the Urgent Care Center.

Degree / Licensure / Certification / Registration: A Masters Degree and certification by one of the Nurse Practitioner certifying bodies is required. Must have and maintain a DEA license with no restrictions. Clinical experience in an emergency medicine, urgent care or ambulatory care setting is preferred. BLS Certificate required.

Experience: 2 years preferred

Special Skills & Qualifications:

Knowledge of the principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and emulation of customer satisfaction.

Applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations including the requirements of the HIPAA, OSHA and applicable state rules and regulations pertinent to the medical practices of the Urgent Care.

Computerized information systems used in business applications and clinical management systems (HMS).

Relevant drugs and their chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they under go.

Non pharmaceutical patient aids, their applicable uses and relevance to patient care.

Current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment.

Accreditation and certification requirements and the ability to maintain all appropriate licenses.
