Job Summary:

The Massage Therapist is responsible for the development, implementation, oversight, delivery and ongoing growth of Massage Therapy services at GSH. Works to provide competitive, high quality, cost effective services while maintaining positive employee and customer relations using effective participative skills.

Essential Duties:

The Massage Therapist is responsible for the development, evaluation, and delivery of massage therapy services at GSH.

Works with the Wellness/Fitness Manager and Director to budget for and market massage therapy services.

Works with medical professionals (physicians, physical therapists, chiropractors, etc.) to determine and evaluate the appropriate delivery of services to internal and external customers.

Integrates massage therapy services with other departments as appropriate.

Provides staff development/education as needed and requested.

Attends departmental and team staff meetings.

Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Hours: Various - depending on customer scheduling.

Education:

Graduate of a school of Massage Therapy.

Licensure:

Possesses and maintains appropriate licensure within the State of Nebraska through the Nebraska Health and Human Services Regulation and Licensure Credentialing Division.

Experience:

Performed at least 50 therapeutic sessions of massage work in the past 12 months preferred.

Experience with massage therapy for various health concerns and in a variety of massage therapy techniques such as light vs. deep techniques (myofascial release, deep tissue and shiatsu) preferred.

Professionalism/Growth:

Good oral and written communication skills, leadership, judgment and decision-making skills, public speaking and analytical skills.

Ability to develop team understanding of the therapeutic benefits of massage.

Adherence to confidentiality of all participant information.

Ability to work in a participative team oriented environment.
