Position Summary: Generalist position to include performing phlebotomy. Responsibilities include specimen processing, phlebotomy, chemistry, hematology, blood bank, urinalysis and limited microbiology. Instrument Maintenance is also performed on this shift.

Responsibilities: Performs analyses on biological specimens, e.g. blood and urine, to aid health care providers in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Participates in the operational support activities necessary to maintain and optimize testing capabilities.

Qualifications: Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Medical/Clinical Laboratory Science, or health related field. Completion of a clinical laboratory internship; An HEW certificate may be substituted for the specified degree; Applicants with a Baccalaureate Degree in a science or health related field with completion of a clinical laboratory internship or clinical laboratory experience will be considered in the appropriate field of study (i.e. Microbiology)

Additional Qualifications: Moderate to advanced computer skills Possess good written and oral communications skills, the ability to prioritize work, manage time wisely, and adjust to changes in work volumes and projects.

License or Certification: Applicant should possess one of the following; appropriate HHS (Health & Human Services) or approved laboratory certification (ASCP or AMT) Medical Technologist, MT (ASCP) Clinical Laboratory Scientist, CLS (ASCP) Medical Laboratory Scientist, MLS (ASCP)Medical Technologist, MT (AMT) Or registry eligible. Registry eligible candidates must successfully complete Board of Registry ASCP or AMT examination within first 6 months of employment. Basic Life Support certification may be required depending on location of hire. Limited X-Ray Machine Operator (LXMO) certification may be required depending on location of hire.

Compensation Detail: Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $xx.xx per hour.

Hours/Pay Period: 80

Schedule Details: Shift is from 1445 to 2315 Monday through Friday with rotating weekends and holiday schedule.

Weekend Schedule: Rotate every third weekend evening hours 1445 - 2315.
